I tried to replicate the behavior you described, but the preview is still displaying correctly on my end.

To help me better understand your situation, may I ask a few questions?

Does this behavior only occur in the affected file, or do you see the same behavior in other files as well?
If you make a copy of the affected file, does the same behavior still occur in the copied version?
Have you had a chance to test the file in a different browser? If so, does the behavior remain the same?

1 - It is the same in other files as well.

2 - Yes if I make a copy the behaviour is still the same.

3 - I have tested in different browsers and same.

More info - I am selecting an area within a worksheet that contains a table, there are three rows above that I am not selecting.

Thank you for sharing the additional details.

To help narrow this down further, could you please provide some additional information?

1/ Was the affected file originally created on a local device and then saved or synced to OneDrive?

If so, could you please confirm your current Excel version and channel?

You can check this by going to File > Account.

Additionally, if possible, could you create a sample workbook directly in Excel for the web and see whether the same behavior occurs there?

2/ Aside from the preview behavior, does the embedded file work correctly when using the generated iframe code?

**3/ Does the same behavior occur when you select Entire Workbook instead of **Select a Range?
