Hi jeff wicks,
System Restore points are designed to be stored on the PC and can't be backed up or exported directly to a USB drive. They may also be removed automatically over time as Windows manages available storage space for restore point data.
As an alternative, you can create a recovery option that is stored externally:
- Connect a USB drive.
- Search for Recovery Drive in the Start menu.
- Open it and follow the prompts to create a recovery USB.
You may also want to create regular backups of your personal files to an external drive or cloud storage for additional protection.
I hope this helps clarify how restore points work. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
