If I open Copilot from within Word or Excel, I get an error saying I'm out of units or credits. However, if I open Copilot from outside OFFICE I don't get that error and can use Copilot as much as I need.

Hi @Wayne La Borde

According to AI credits and limits for Microsoft 365 subscriptions, Copilot features inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft 365 apps consume AI credits. Once the available AI credits for your subscription are exhausted, you may receive messages indicating that you are out of credits when using Copilot in those apps.

Microsoft notes that some Copilot experiences may have different usage limits depending on the feature and entry point. As a result, it is possible to continue using Copilot through the standalone Microsoft Copilot app or website while Copilot features within Word or Excel are restricted due to AI credit limits.

Could you confirm which Microsoft 365 subscription you are using (Personal, Family, Premium, or a work/school license)? That will help determine whether the behavior is expected based on your plan's AI credit limits.

I hope this helps clarify the current behavior.
