    Hi Andy Brandt,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially if you originally purchased Office through the Home Use Program and expected it to remain usable.

For older Home Use Program / Workplace Discount Program purchases, the reinstall method depends on the product type:

    • If you purchased Office Professional Plus, Visio Professional, or Project Professional, you can try retrieving the product key from the https://www.microsoft.com/home-use-program/order-history using the work email address used at the time of purchase.
    • If the purchase was Microsoft 365 or Office Home & Business, the license is usually tied to the personal Microsoft account used during purchase. Please check Services & subscriptions and install Office from there.
    • If you have the product key, you may also try redeeming or reinstalling from Office setup.

Regarding New Outlook, it is separate from the classic Outlook desktop app. If your Office license includes classic Outlook, you can try opening Outlook (classic) from the Windows Start menu or switch back from New Outlook if the toggle is available. If classic Outlook is not installed, Microsoft also provides guidance here: Install or reinstall classic Outlook on Windows.

Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators, contributors including external Microsoft employees cannot directly intervene in Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. Our role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests, or ideas only.

If the license does not appear in your Microsoft account or HUP order history, you may need to contact Microsoft Support with your purchase details for further checking.

    Thank you for your understanding.
