Dear experts,
We are still using MDT older version to deploy Windows 10 and so far it works just well. But now we found that it can't be used to deploy Windows 11, we can't import the windows 11 image into MDT workbench. I googled around and seems we need the new ADK and maybe also MDT to support Windows 11.
Is there any document where we can learn how to upgrade our MDT server so that we can deploy both Windows 10 and Windows 11?
Any advice would be really appreciated.

MDT build 8456 is the latest version available on the Microsoft Download Center, we do not need to operate it. Please remove the Windows ADK and the WinPE add-on for the Windows 10, and then download and install the WinPE add-on and the ADK for Windows 11 to have a try.

MDT is supported on the Windows 11 and you are using the old version, so you have uninstall it and then restart your PC and download and install the latest version of MDT which support Windows 11. Take a look at:

Thanks a lot for your comment. I saw these links before and actually what I'm asking about is - how to upgrade our current MDT server so that it supports Windows 11 as well? We have a lot of custom settings and also custom images on this MDT server, so we would avoid uninstall everything then start over from zero, if possible?
In that case, there is no need to uninstall the old version and just try to install a new version, take a look at:

If possible take a backup of your system and the MDT settings (if possible) and create a restore point before installing, so in case of failure you could restore them back.
The first link points to a Windows 10 support page, not Windows 11 and the second link does not work at all.
Looks like Microsoft took down the article for the "create a Windows 11 reference image" mentioned above. Like John said, the the link is not valid.

The ADK does not upgrade or overwrite itself and having multiple ADKs on a system creates problems. Uninstall the existing ADK and install the new ADK. You can then install the new version of MDT (no need to remove the old version). Once that is done, you will need to run Update Deployment Share. You will need to generate a new WinPE as you are now using a new ADK.

Thanks a lot for your information provided. I have a quick question, you can see that the MDT version we installed at 2019 was also 8456 and the link you shared via MS seems the same version but which was updated at Oct 2020, is there any difference that you might be aware of?

What if you want to have boot images from both the Win 11 and Win 10 PE environments available for selection at deployment? Obviously you would have to select an operating system with for the correct boot image. The problem with using the latest is that some hardware may not be supported in the Win 11 PE environment that is supported in Win 10, and using the older image is fine on those systems because you are going to deploy Win 10. We have found that to be the case.
