cant find @external drive in file explorer?

When trying to search for new external hard drive I am not able to locate the drive when opening files?

If the external drive is not showing up in File Explorer, Windows may be detecting the device but has not assigned it a drive letter yet.

You can try these quick checks:

1. Press Windows + X > Disk Management.
2. Look for the external drive:
   • If it appears without a drive letter, right-click it and select Change Drive Letter and Paths > Add.
   • If it shows as Unallocated and the drive is new, it may need to be initialized and formatted before use.
3. If the drive does not appear there, reconnect it using a different USB port and check Device Manager > Disk drives to see if Windows detects it.
4. If possible, test the drive on another PC to help determine whether the issue is related to the drive, cable, or the current system.

If the drive appears in Disk Management but still does not show in File Explorer, sharing a screenshot of Disk Management would help identify the next step.
