Microsoft Forms - Star rating does not match numerical rating

Hello,

I have noticed that the summary link used in Forms is incorrect.

For example, if the average score is 5, only 4 stars are marked.

Can this be rectified as it is confusing.

This appears to be a display issue in the Microsoft Forms response summary. The numerical average is the value calculated from the submitted responses, while the star graphic is not being rendered correctly.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Open the summary link in an InPrivate or Incognito window, then check it in another browser. If the stars display correctly there, clear the browser’s cached images and files.

Confirm that the rating question is set to five levels. You can also temporarily change the symbol from Star to Number, save the form, and create a new summary link. This provides a clearer view while avoiding the incorrect star display.

Export the responses by selecting Responses > Open in Excel and verify the average against the submitted ratings. There is no setting in Forms to manually correct only the stars shown on the summary page.

If the mismatch remains, report it through Help > Feedback in Forms. Include a screenshot showing the average of 5 beside the four highlighted stars, as this will need to be corrected on the Forms service side.

Do not delete the question, as doing so may affect its existing response data.
