Managing sound and video settings during Teams meetings and calls for optimal communication
Dear @Annie,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on your description, your microphone works when joining other meetings, but participants cannot hear you when you host a meeting.
To narrow down the issue, could you please confirm:
- Does this happen in all meetings you organize or only specific ones?
- Are you using the Teams desktop app or Teams web app?
- If you create a new test meeting, can participants hear you?
- Does the issue occur with a different headset or microphone as well?
Since the issue only occurs when you host a meeting, it may be related to the Teams client or the specific meeting configuration. Please try some suggestions below:Check device settings in Teams
- Go to Settings > Devices
- Ensure the correct microphone, speaker, and camera are selected
- Use Make a test call to verify functionality
Sign out of Teams, completely close the application, then sign back in and test again.
If you are using the Teams desktop app, try hosting the meeting through Teams on the web to determine whether the issue is specific to the desktop client
On Windows:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone / Camera
- Ensure access is enabled and Microsoft Teams is allowed
For reference My speaker isn't working in Microsoft Teams
If you have tried all the methods above but still cannot resolve the issue, please update more information as my previous questions so I can support you more effectively.
Please understand that the more information you provide, the more helpful I can support.
Looking forward to your update.
