Microsoft 365 Developer Program Subscription Expired During MFA Recovery – Reactivate Subscription Disabled ✅ (Best choice)

I am requesting assistance with my Microsoft 365 Developer Program subscription.

Tenant: [Moderator note: personal info removed]

I lost access to my developer tenant after replacing my phone because Microsoft Authenticator on the old device was my only MFA method. During the recovery process, I deleted and rejoined the Microsoft 365 Developer Program using the same personal Microsoft account. I have now successfully regained access to the tenant and administrator account. However, my Microsoft 365 E5 Developer subscription expired on July 27, 2026, and the Reactivate Subscription option is disabled. The tenant is still accessible and appears to be within the grace period, but the Developer Program dashboard shows the subscription as Inactive/Expired. Can a Microsoft moderator please advise whether the existing Microsoft 365 E5 Developer subscription can be manually restored or escalated to the Microsoft 365 Developer Program team for review, given that the expiration occurred while I was locked out due to an MFA recovery issue?

    Hello @Abhishek Yadav

First, I would like to clarify that Microsoft Q&A is a user-to-user community forum. Moderators here are not Microsoft Support and do not have backend access to Developer Program systems, so we cannot manually restore subscriptions, review tenant lifecycle status, or escalate cases directly to the Microsoft 365 Developer Program team.

Please also understand that the qualification and renewal process for Microsoft 365 Developer Program tenants is fully automated and based on predefined algorithms and telemetry. Based on my experience, renewal evaluations typically occur before the subscription expiration date. However, the exact timing and outcome are determined automatically by Microsoft's systems and cannot be manually influenced.

Since you have already regained access to the tenant and the Reactivate Subscription option is disabled, I recommend the following:

I hope this information helps. Thank you for your understanding.
