Zero bytes recording

I’ve recorded a meeting in Teams (and checked during the meeting the Recording button was on) that then processed and appears in the Team CHAT space. But the screen is black and it has zero bytes when downloaded. Can I access the recording in some other way?

Thanks so much for responding – but the full recording has now loaded into the Chat area. I had underestimated how long it would take, being a recording of 1.5hrs. It took nearly 1 hour to process - so I'll know next time. HUGE thanks for the trouble taken to consider the problem.

    Hello @Lucy Hall,

Based on the information you provided, I understand that the meeting recording appeared to start successfully, but no recording was available after the meeting ended.

To help further investigate this issue, could you please provide the following information?

    • Approximately how long was the meeting being recorded before it ended?
    • Was the recording started in a group chat meeting, a scheduled meeting, or a 1:1 call?
    • Are you still able to reproduce the issue with a new recording?
    • Have you tested whether the issue occurs in both the Teams desktop app and Teams on the web?
    • If a recording file was generated, has it been more than 24 hours since the recording was created? If so, is the recording still showing a black screen or unable to play?

Once I have this information, I can better determine the cause of the issue and advise on the next steps.

Thank you, and I look forward to your response.
