Hey, we have microsoft 365 copilot license and was wondering if we need a separate license to be able to use cowork.

Based on Microsoft's prerequisites for Cowork, a separate Cowork license is not required. Access is covered by an existing Microsoft 365 Copilot license assigned to the user.

In addition, the following tenant requirements must be configured:

• Cowork enabled in the Microsoft 365 Copilot environment
• Usage-based (Cowork) billing enabled
• Anthropic enabled in the tenant

If those prerequisites are in place, users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license should be able to access and use Cowork.

No separate Copilot license is indicated for Cowork beyond Microsoft 365 Copilot.

The supported guidance says Cowork requires these conditions in addition to having Microsoft 365 Copilot assigned:

1. Frontier preview enrollment must be enabled for both the tenant and the admin account managing Cowork.
2. Anthropic as a subprocessor must be enabled in the tenant.
3. In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Copilot > Agents > All agents and verify Cowork is not blocked and is available to the intended users or groups.
4. Users then add Cowork from the Agent Store in Microsoft 365 Copilot or Teams.

If those conditions are already met and Cowork still does not appear, the remaining issue is treated as a preview or rollout problem.
