When trying to add an email to my account I am receiving a notice that my device is locked. I am the admin on the account and am confused on how to unlock the device. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Michaels Lighting,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd like to gather a few more details so I can better understand what's causing this issue.

Could you share the exact message you see when you try to add the email account? A screenshot would also help, as long as any personal information is hidden.

    I'd also like to know:

    • Is this a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account?
    • Are you adding the account through Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts, Outlook or another app?
    • Can you sign in to the account successfully in a web browser?
    • Does the message say the device is locked, disabled or something else?

The exact wording of the error can help narrow down whether the issue is related to the account, the device or a management policy.

Feel free to post back with these details and I'll do my best to help you get this sorted out.
