Cannot connect OneDrive to Copilot

I would like Copilot to access my OneDrive and Google Drive to help me create documents. I can use Copilot within Word. But, I cannot get it to sync up online. I keep getting an error message. Copilot has suggested logging out and in. That doesn't work. I have checked to see that I'm logged in with the same email. The "connectors" feature just doesn't seem to be working no matter what I try. Copilot suggested I wait and that this might be a Microsoft issue. And, to try again later. Any other suggestions?

I think the key is signing into Copilot.com with the same Microsoft account as your OneDrive and letting the connector auth popup finish in a clean browser with cookies allowed and no extensions. That’s the part Copilot depends on.

Try these checks for Copilot connectors:

    1. In Copilot, open Profile > Connectors and reconnect each service:
      • Select Connect next to OneDrive or Google Drive.
      • Select Continue to ... and complete the authorization flow.
      • For OneDrive, the Microsoft account used in Copilot must match the Microsoft account used for OneDrive. If they do not match, Copilot cannot retrieve the content.
    2. If the connector appears enabled, toggle it off and back on:
      • On Copilot.com: select the Open icon (+) and Use connectors.
      • On Copilot Mobile: select Profile > Connectors.
    3. If the problem is with Microsoft content, verify the account again:
      • On microsoft365.com, check the profile in the upper-right corner.
      • If the wrong account is signed in, use Sign in with a different account.
    4. If the error appears while using Copilot on the web, refresh the page. If it still fails, enable third-party cookies in the browser. Blocked third-party cookies can prevent Copilot from validating the license.
    5. If the file being used is stored in a third-party location, move or copy it to OneDrive or SharePoint before using Copilot with that file. Third-party storage locations can cause license validation or related errors in Microsoft 365 apps.
    6. For Google Drive, reconnect and reauthorize the Google account from Profile > Connectors. Copilot requires explicit permission to access Google Drive data.
    7. If the issue is only with OneDrive and the connector stays stuck or never completes, test whether the same Microsoft account connects successfully on Copilot.com or another device. If the same behavior follows the account after reconnecting and reauthorizing, contact Microsoft Support for account-specific sign-in or connection review.

Copilot connectors do not expand access. They only work with content the connected account already has permission to view.
