Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hi, Charlie Hill
Error 0x0 is a known activation issue affecting Word, PowerPoint, and other Office apps on Mac. It has been resolved through the latest Office updates.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Make sure your Mac is running macOS 12 or later.
Close all Office apps.
Open Finder > Applications > Microsoft AutoUpdate, then select Update All. If Microsoft AutoUpdate is not listed, check/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/.
Restart the Mac, open Word, and sign in with the Microsoft account that owns the Office license.
If Word and PowerPoint were installed from the Mac App Store, open the App Store > Updates and update each Office app there instead.
If this is a Windows computer, first confirm the subscription is active and that you are using the account that purchased Office. Also remove any older duplicate Office installations, since multiple copies can cause activation conflicts.
Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
