Question

How do I adjust the information I have entered in a cell.

For example I have names in one column and then in the next column I enter numbers .

Sometimes they do not align next to one another .

To line up names and numbers in Excel, adjust the cell alignment for the cells in those columns:

1. Select the cells, columns, or range that contains the names and numbers.
2. Go to the Home tab.
3. In the Alignment group, choose:
   • Align Left, Center, or Align Right for horizontal alignment.
   • Top Align, Middle Align, or Bottom Align for vertical alignment.

If text is not fully visible in a cell, select Wrap Text so the full entry displays without changing the column width.

If the contents still look uneven because the text is cut off, column width and row height can also be adjusted using Home > Format > AutoFit Column Width or AutoFit Row Height.
