Hi Team,

Inside the Dev Box, we are not able to take screenshots during a Microsoft Teams meeting when the other user is sharing their screen.

Please check and help resolve this issue.

This happens because Teams applies content protection to shared screens when a session is running inside a virtualized environment such as Dev Box, and this protection automatically blocks screenshot and screen capture tools. It is a built in security control designed to prevent shared meeting content from being captured through remote or virtual sessions, so it applies regardless of which capture tool is used.

1. Switch the protection scope from "Client and Server" to "Client Only"

• Screen Capture Protection supports two enforcement modes: Block screen capture on client, and Block screen capture on client and server.
• The client and server mode also restricts any tool running inside the Dev Box itself from capturing the screen, which is why screenshots taken from within the session are currently being blocked.
• Reconfiguring the policy to client only mode through Intune or Group Policy should allow screenshot tools inside the Dev Box to function normally, while protection on the local device remains in place.

2. Apply the policy through RDP properties instead of group policy

• Screen Capture Protection can be configured directly through the RDP Properties of the host pool in the Azure Portal, rather than through a Group Policy Object.
• This method allows the setting to be scoped and adjusted at the host pool level.
• It is often faster to update and easier to target to a specific Dev Box pool without affecting other environments.

3. Exclude the affected users or device group from the protection policy

• Screen Capture Protection is applied through a Settings Catalog profile or Group Policy Object assigned to a security group or organizational unit.
• Your administrator can create a separate device group for users who need screenshot functionality inside their Dev Box.
• Excluding that group from the policy assignment keeps protection enforced organization-wide while allowing an exception for approved use cases such as documentation or troubleshooting.
