What is the status of your subscription if you sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/services ?

As long as the subscription is active, you should be able to just sign in to your Office apps to (re-)activate them.

For Microsoft 365 for home, use this path:

    1. Close all Microsoft 365 apps.
    2. Go to the Services & subscriptions page.
    3. Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with the subscription.
    4. Check whether the subscription is listed under Subscriptions or Cancelled subscriptions.
    5. If it has expired, renew or reactivate it from there.
      • If an Office app shows RENEW YOUR SUBSCRIPTION, select Buy and follow the steps.
      • If it shows SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRED, select Reactivate, then Buy. If a new unused product key was purchased from a retailer, select Enter Key.
    6. After renewing, close all Office apps and reopen them.

If the subscription is already active but Office still does not reactivate:

    1. Sign out of the Office apps.
    2. Restart the device.
    3. Sign back in with the same Microsoft account used for the subscription.

On Windows, if activation still fails:

    1. Run the Microsoft 365 activation troubleshooter from Start.
    2. Follow the prompts on the same Windows PC where Microsoft 365 is installed.
    3. Windows 10 or later is required for the troubleshooter.

If that still does not fix it, the documented next step is to deactivate the Office install, completely uninstall Office using the easy fix tool, and then reinstall Office. This is more disruptive because Office will be removed before reinstalling.

If the subscription was purchased through a third party, it may need to be managed through that seller instead of directly through Microsoft.
