Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hi Larry
I understand how confusing it is to unlock Microsoft Authenticator and see only a blank screen with Get Codes.
The Get Codes option only displays verification codes. The actual sign-in page should be opened separately in the Microsoft app, website, or service you are trying to access. Please try the following:
- Update Microsoft Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Restart your phone, then switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data and make sure Airplane mode and any VPN are turned off.
- Confirm that your phone’s date and time are set automatically.
- Open the Microsoft website or app you want to access, enter your account details, and select Microsoft Authenticator when prompted. If it asks for a code, enter the current code shown under Get Codes.
Please let us know whether this is a personal Microsoft account or a work or school account, and whether you are using Android or iPhone, so we can provide the appropriate next steps.
