    Hi Kathy Ballinger

You may refer to the AI's previous response for the recommended troubleshooting steps.

Additionally, you can also try to reset all Outlook views if multiple folders are affected:

    -Close Outlook completely > Press Windows + R > Type: outlook.exe /cleanview > Press Enter.

This resets all custom Outlook views back to the defaults. Please note that any custom views you previously created will be removed.

If the issue remains, to better understand your situation, could you please share some information:

    • A screenshot of the changed Outlook view.
    • Whether the change affects only the Inbox or all folders.
    • Your Outlook version (File > Office Account > About Outlook).

I look forward to you response.

Try these in classic Outlook for Windows:

    1. Reset the current folder view
      • Open the folder that looks wrong, such as Inbox.
      • Go to View > Reset View.
    2. If View Settings is missing
      • Go to View > Change View.
      • Right-click a view such as Compact or Preview.
      • Select View Settings.
    3. Reset the navigation pane if the left side layout changed
      • Close Outlook.
      • Press Windows key + R.
      • In Open, type: Outlook.exe /resetnavpane
      • Select OK.
      This removes navigation pane customizations.
    4. If contacts/People view is the part that looks broken
      • Close Outlook.
      • Start Outlook while holding Ctrl until the Safe Mode prompt appears.
      • After Outlook opens in Safe Mode, close it.
      • Start Outlook normally again.

If the issue is only that folders or the left pane are hidden, the problem is often the navigation pane customization. If the issue is in a specific mail folder, View > Reset View is the first thing to use.
