I created a new folder in my email to save emails and the folder doesn't appear in the list. If I go to move an email it shows up. How do I get the folder to show in the list on the side?

Try these steps in Outlook on the web:

  1. In the left sidebar, select the three-line icon to show the folder pane if it is hidden.
  2. Expand Folders and any parent folders. New folders can be created as subfolders under another folder, so the folder may be inside a collapsed parent.
  3. If the folder pane still does not appear correctly:
    • Sign out of Outlook.com.
    • Clear the browser cache.
    • Close all browser tabs and windows.
    • Sign in again.
  4. If the folder is visible only when moving mail, right-click the folder where it was created and check whether it was added as a subfolder.
  5. If needed, right-click a visible folder in the folder list and use the folder context menu to create or reorganize folders.

In Outlook Web App, the folder list can be expanded or collapsed, and folders may be nested under other folders. In some cases, clearing the browser cache and signing in again restores the left folder pane.

    Hi @Walker, Janet (VADOC)

Thank you for reaching out. I'd like to gather a little more information so we can narrow down the cause.

Could you please let us know:

    • Are you using Outlook on the web, New Outlook, or Outlook Classic?
    • Did the folder appear immediately after you created it, or has it never shown in the folder pane?
    • If you right-click your mailbox and select Expand All Folders, does the folder become visible?
    • Do you see the same behavior if you access your mailbox from another device or from Outlook on the web?
    • If possible, could you also share a screenshot of the folder list on the left side of Outlook? That may help us better understand what you're seeing.  In the meantime, since you can see the folder when moving emails, you may be able to add it to Favorites so it is easier to find:
    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Locate the folder using the Move option or by searching for it.
    3. Right-click the folder.
    4. Select Add to Favorites (or Show in Favorites, depending on your Outlook version).  User's image

The folder should then appear in the Favorites section near the top of the folder pane for quick access.

Thank you again for your time and understanding. I really appreciate your patience, and I'm here to help. Looking forward to your response.
