Additional features, settings, or issues not covered by specific Microsoft Teams categories
If Microsoft Teams stops starting automatically after updating to a version newer than 25255.703.3978.7153, you can try the following workaround:
- Open Microsoft Teams > Settings > System.
- Make sure Auto-start Teams is enabled.
- Untick Open application in background.
- Open Task Manager > Startup apps.
- Find Microsoft Teams (
msteams_autostarter.exe). - Right-click it and select Enable.
- Restart Windows and check whether Teams starts automatically.
If Teams still does not start automatically, you should also check whether msteams_autostarter.exe is being blocked by security, antivirus, or application-control software, since this component is responsible for starting the new Teams client at sign-in.
I hope this helps.
