Good day,

I have two devices in my tenant that the time on the pc is set correctly and Teams displays correctly but when someone tries to schedule a meeting or see the status is shows them in Pacific time. I've tried multiple things and nothing seems to change the behavior.

Please assist.

Lisa

    Hello Lisa Pratt

Thank you for providing the details.

Before proceeding, I would like to clarify how the time difference appears when the affected users are viewed by others.

Could you please confirm whether the person attempting to schedule the meeting is in the same Microsoft 365 tenant as the affected users, or belongs to another organization?

Please also try to create a test meeting from your own calendar and check whether the meeting time appears correctly. If you see the correct time but another person sees Pacific Time, please send screenshots showing:

    • The meeting time displayed for the affected user
    • The time displayed for the person scheduling or viewing the meeting
    • The relevant time zone information shown in each view

Please hide email addresses or other sensitive information if necessary. This comparison will help determine whether the issue is associated with the affected user’s mailbox settings or with the person viewing the calendar.

1/ As the next step, please check the Outlook time zone settings for each affected user.

    • Sign in to Outlook on the web using the affected account.
    • Go to Settings > General > Language and time.
    • Check the following settings: Current time zone, Language and region

If the setting currently shows Pacific Time, please change it to the correct time zone and save the change.

If the time zone already appears correct but the behavior continues, please try refreshing the setting:

    • Temporarily select a different time zone.
    • Select Save.
    • Change it back to the correct time zone.
    • Select Save again.
    • Sign out of Outlook and Teams. Then sign back in and allow some time for the changes to synchronize before testing another meeting.

2/ Please also check the account’s language and regional settings here: My Account: Settings & Privacy

After signing in with the affected account, confirm that the language, region, and time zone information match the user’s actual location.

Please update me with the test results. These details will help me better understand where the time zone difference is being introduced.

    Kind regards,

For this symptom in Teams, the most relevant checks are the mailbox time zone, the mailbox working-hours time zone, and the device time zone.

    1. Verify the device time zone on the affected PCs.
      • In Windows: Settings > Time & language > Date & time.
      • Confirm the correct Time zone is selected.
      • If needed, turn Set time zone automatically off and manually select the correct zone.
    2. Restart Teams after confirming the OS time zone.
      • Teams reflects device time zone changes, but a restart may be required before the change appears.
    3. Check the affected users’ Exchange Online mailbox working-hours time zone.
      • This is important because incorrect attendee time zone and scheduling behavior can come from mailbox calendar settings.
      • In Exchange Online PowerShell, run:
         Get-MailboxCalendarConfiguration -Identity <user> | FL WorkingHoursTimeZone

      • If the returned value is wrong, update the mailbox settings.
    4. Check and correct mailbox regional time zone settings if needed.
      • For multiple affected mailboxes, Exchange Online supports bulk correction with PowerShell.
      • Example pattern:
         $users = Get-Mailbox -ResultSize unlimited -Filter{(RecipientTypeDetails -eq <UserMailbox>)}
         $users | %{Set-MailboxRegionalConfiguration $_.Identity -TimeZone <Pacific Standard Time>}

Replace the recipient type and time zone with the correct values for the affected users.
    5. If Teams still shows Pacific time after the device and mailbox settings are confirmed, treat it as a likely sync or account-specific issue.
      • A reported troubleshooting path for this scenario is to clear the Teams cache and test again.
      • If the issue persists, open a support request in Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > New Service Request, because this can indicate a backend synchronization issue.

For the scheduling symptom specifically, corrupted calendar settings can cause Outlook on the web or new Outlook to show an attendee in the wrong time zone even when both users are actually in the same zone.
