Hi @arifaraiyanarizizhanmahfuz
Before troubleshooting, I would first ask a few questions to narrow down the issue:
- What is the exact error message you see when you try to open the Word document?
- Is the problem affecting only this one document, or are you unable to open all Word documents?
- If the document is saved in OneDrive or SharePoint, can you open the document successfully in Word for the web?
If Word suddenly shows "Repair" and the document will not open, the issue may be with either the document itself or Microsoft Word. I recommend trying the following steps:
1.Create a copy of the affected Word file first. This preserves the original file in case additional recovery attempts are needed.
2.If the file is stored in OneDrive or SharePoint, try opening it in Word for the web.
- Open the document from OneDrive or SharePoint in your browser.
- If it opens successfully, try File > Save As and save a new copy.
- Then try opening the newly saved copy in the Word desktop app.
3.Try Word's Open and Repair option as @Olavia alaaxander 's suggestion
- Open Word without opening the affected document.
- Select File > Open > Browse.
- Select the affected document.
- Click the ▼ next to Open.
- Select Open and Repair.

4.Try opening Word in Safe Mode
- Press Windows + R.
- Enter
winword /safe and press Enter.
- Try opening the document again.
- If it opens in Safe Mode, an add-in or Word configuration may be causing the issue.
5.If other Word documents also cannot be opened, repair Microsoft 365/Office.
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find Microsoft 365 apps for Enterprise.
- Select Modify.
- Run Quick Repair first.
- If the issue remains, try Online Repair.
I hope this helps.
