A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Hi, Kim
The Microsoft Store version of OneDrive is only a file viewer, not the desktop backup and sync client. Since OneDrive was previously included with Windows, restoring or repairing Windows may bring it back while keeping S mode enabled.
Besides the solutions provided by the Q&A Assist, here are some suggestions you can try:
Search for Create a restore point, open it, then select System Restore. Choose a restore point dated before OneDrive was removed. This reverses recent system and app changes without affecting personal files.
If no restore point exists, open Settings > System > Recovery. Under Fix problems using Windows Update, select Reinstall now. This reinstalls the same Windows version, repairs system components, and preserves your files, apps, and settings. Keep the laptop connected to power and the internet.
As a last resort, use Settings > System > Recovery > Reset PC > Keep my files, preferably with Cloud download. This keeps personal files but removes installed apps and settings, so back up anything important first.
After each recovery attempt, restart the laptop and search for OneDrive from the Start menu.
