Azure Refund Request

I’ve been trying for nearly two weeks to get a refund for unexpected Azure charges for a service I never used. I’ve been working with Azure Support in Nigeria and unfortunately, the experience has been extremely frustrating. I initially opened a support case but was told to open another case and nothing has been resolved since. The support agents I worked with were helpful but after speaking with their manager, the experience became extremely frustrating. Despite explaining the situation, I continue to be told that they can only provide a partial refund. Is there a way to escalate this to another Azure support region or a higher-level billing team such as U.S.-based support? 26081100**************************** / 26081300************************ I’d appreciate any guidance from anyone who has dealt with a similar Azure billing issue.

Microsoft Microsoft Azure Community Microsoft Azure - I’d really appreciate some assistance getting this resolved.

    Hi Giddy,

Thank you for the screenshot. “Expedited refund limit reached” means the automated refund option is no longer available, so the request needs manual Billing Support review.

Go to Help + support → Create a support request → Billing → Refund request. When the automated refund suggestion appears, select “Return to support request” at the upper-left instead of the refund button, then complete the manual case form.

Azure routes billing cases according to the billing account’s registered country; there is no option to select U.S. support manually. If the country is incorrect or the portal continues looping, reply to your existing case and request escalation, or call the appropriate number on the Azure regional contact page.

Thank you, and feel free to respond back for more assistance.

    Hi Giddy,

I understand how frustrating this has been. Azure does not provide an official option to transfer a billing case to U.S.-based support. Reply to the existing case and formally request escalation to a senior Billing Support manager, asking for a written review of the full refund decision. Include the invoices, affected resources, usage evidence, and timeline.

You can also submit a fresh Azure billing request and reference both existing cases. Billing support is free, but refunds remain subject to Microsoft’s review and are not guaranteed. For security, please remove the case numbers from this public post.

Thank you, and feel free to respond back for more assistance.
