I have set the default search engine to "Google" in Edge > settings, but it still does Bing searches - WHY?

Most commonly, Edge is still using Bing because the search is happening from a place that is not using the address bar setting, or because an extension changed search behavior.

Check these items:

1. Confirm the address bar search engine setting In Edge, go to: Settings and more > Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Search and connected services > Address bar and search Then verify Search engine used in the address bar is set to Google.
2. Make sure the search is being done from the address bar If the search is started from a different search box, it may not follow the same behavior. Make sure you are using the address bar to make searches. If you use the search bar on the new tab page, the searches will be done on Bing regardless of your default search engine setting.
