Hi Jonathan Roberts,
Thank you for providing those details. From your description, you upgraded the hardware, replaced the motherboard and performed a clean installation of Windows 11 on a new NVMe drive. Because a motherboard is considered a major hardware component for Windows activation, the system may no longer recognize the digital license that was associated with the previous device, which can result in error 0xC004F213.
Since you've already tried the Activation Troubleshooter and selected "I changed hardware on this device recently" but no eligible devices were shown, the next step is to determine what type of Windows license was activated on the old PC.
Could you let me know whether the Windows 10 Home license was:
- Preinstalled on the original PC when you purchased it or
- Purchased separately as a retail license from Microsoft or another authorized retailer?
If you purchased the license separately and still have the 25-character product key, try going to Settings > System > Activation > Change product key and enter that key to see whether Windows activates successfully.
If you no longer have the product key and the previous device does not appear in the hardware-change activation wizard, please let me know the exact activation message shown under Settings > System > Activation, in addition to the error code. That information can help clarify whether Windows is unable to find a linked digital license or whether there is another licensing issue involved.
I look forward to your update.
