Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Given that Microsoft Support has already confirmed a current service disruption affecting authentication/sign-in for email accounts in New Outlook, avoid removing/re-adding the Gmail account, reinstalling Outlook, changing passwords, or repeatedly retrying authentication for now.
There are also multiple current reports of Gmail accounts failing in New Outlook with INVALIDCREDENTIALS / TEMPORARILYUNAVAILABLE, including accounts that were working normally beforehand. Similar incidents have previously recovered without users making configuration changes.
Since Support has told you they are investigating, treat this as a service-side issue until they confirm a fix. Use Gmail on the web/mobile temporarily and wait for Microsoft's update.
Once Microsoft confirms the incident is resolved, first close and reopen New Outlook, then retry authentication. A Windows reboot or Outlook reinstall shouldn't normally be necessary unless Microsoft specifically recommends it.
Thanks for posting the confirmation from Support. It helps others avoid unnecessary account resets while the service issue is being investigated.
