    Hi mathias samuel,

I understand how inconvenient it is when Copilot will not let you sign in, especially when it is not clear whether the problem is.

At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in the AI generated answer on your thread. That reply typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario.

Could you please clarify a few details?

    • Are you using Copilot on the website, the Windows Copilot app, or the Copilot sidebar in Microsoft Edge?
    • Are you signing in with a personal Microsoft account or a work/school account?
    • What exactly happens after you select Sign in? For example, does the page reload, remain blank, return to the sign-in screen, or display an error message?
    • Can you sign in to your Microsoft account normally at Microsoft account?
    • Does the same problem occur in another browser or on another device?

In the meantime, please try the following:

    • Update Microsoft Edge by opening Settings and more > Help and feedback > About Microsoft Edge.
    • Open Copilot in a regular Edge window and temporarily disable any ad-blocking, privacy, or security extensions.
    • Clear the site data for Copilot and Microsoft sign-in pages, restart Edge, and try again.
    • If multiple Microsoft accounts are connected to Edge, create a temporary new Edge profile and sign in using only the account you want to use with Copilot.
    • Temporarily disconnect any VPN or proxy and test again.
    • If this is a personal Microsoft account and the account also fails to sign in elsewhere, run the Microsoft account Sign-in Helper.

Please avoid posting your email address or other account information publicly. If possible, share the exact error message or a screenshot with personal information hidden, as that will help identify the correct next step. Thank you so much for your understanding.

    Try these checks in order:

    1. Make sure the correct account is being used.
      • On https://microsoft365.com, check the profile icon in the upper-right corner.
      • If already signed in, select the account icon and choose Sign in with a different account.
      • If this is for personal Copilot, use a personal Microsoft account. If this is for work or school files, use the work or school account that has Copilot access.
    2. If the issue happens in a browser, allow third-party cookies.
      • Microsoft Edge: Settings and More > Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data > make sure Block third-party cookies is Off.
      • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > make sure Allow third-party cookies is selected.
      • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > under Enhanced Tracking Protection, select Custom and make sure Cookies is unchecked.
      • Safari: Settings > Privacy > make sure Prevent cross-site tracking is unchecked, and under Advanced make sure Block all cookies is unchecked.
    3. If using Microsoft 365 web apps, avoid Incognito/InPrivate mode while testing.
      • License validation can fail when third-party cookies are blocked in private browsing.
    4. If the file is stored in a third-party location, move or copy it to OneDrive or SharePoint before using Copilot with that file.
    5. If signing in to Copilot directly, use a supported sign-in type.
      • Copilot on the web can be accessed at copilot.com.
      • Sign-in there supports a personal Microsoft account, Apple ID, or Google Account.
    6. If the problem continues:
      • Home users: contact Support.
      • Business users: check with the Microsoft 365 admin to confirm Microsoft Copilot is assigned, and the admin can contact Microsoft support if needed.
