I have been planning a travel route using Google maps. I am sending the routes to my iPhone via my hotmail email address. 6 out of 8 emails have arrived promptly but the others are not arriving at all.

    Hi David Johnston,

I understand that six Google Maps route emails arrived, while two did not.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot examine the delivery logs for either Google Maps or your Hotmail mailbox.

The Q&A Assist suggestions are generally appropriate. Have you had a chance to try those checks?

I would also suggest resending one of the missing routes to both your Hotmail address and a different email address. If the message does not reach either address, the delivery is more likely related to Google Maps. As a temporary alternative, use Share in Google Maps and copy the route link directly to your iPhone through a message or another email.

If the message reaches the other address but not Hotmail, please let me know, as that result will help narrow down the delivery path.

Note: Please follow the steps in our documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread.

Some Outlook.com/Hotmail messages can be delayed or fail for reasons outside the mailbox, even when other messages arrive normally. The most relevant checks are:

    1. Check Junk Email and the Other tab in Outlook.com. Messages can be filtered there instead of Inbox.
    2. Check Filter > Sort > Date to make sure messages are not appearing out of order.
    3. Check whether email forwarding is enabled.
    4. Check whether any mail rules are moving or hiding messages.
    5. If the missing messages were sent from a specific sender or service, ask the sender to check whether they received a delivery failure message. If they did, the problem may be on the sending side rather than with the Hotmail mailbox.
    6. If the account is being accessed while travelling or from a new device/location, Microsoft may detect unusual sign-in activity and require confirmation before normal access continues.
    7. If the issue continues, use the Outlook.com interactive troubleshooter.

If the missing messages are only from one sender or service, that usually points to a sender-side delivery problem rather than a problem with the Hotmail account.
