Hi, 인애 강
The “????” text in the VBA editor and removal of xl/vbaProject.bin strongly indicate a Windows language setting problem, not a damaged Office installation. VBA still relies on the system locale for non-Unicode programs. If that locale changed, or the UTF-8 beta option became enabled, Excel may misread Korean characters inside VBA projects and treat the macro data as corrupted. Reinstalling Office does not reset this Windows setting.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Make a backup copy of every affected .xlsm file. Do not save the “repaired” version over the original, because Excel removes its VBA project.
Open Control Panel > Clock and Region > Region > Administrative > Change system locale.
Set Current system locale to Korean (Korea).
Clear Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support if selected, then restart Windows.
Open Excel, create a blank .xlsm file, add a simple macro, save, close, and reopen it.
Test an untouched copy of the original workbook.
If Excel already saved the repaired file after removing vbaProject.bin, the deleted VBA code must be restored from a backup, OneDrive Version History, or a previous copy.
