configuration setup for microsoft 2013 issue

my microsoft word is asking for configuration setup and its giving me problems opening my documents. please i want it fixed

What is the exact error message?

It's been a while since I last used Office 2013, but you should be able to repair it from Windows Settings (or Control Panel). Sometimes, you may have to start the repair from the installation disc.

Try a full Office repair. Quick Repair often does not fix Word startup or configuration problems.

1. Close all Office apps.
2. Open Settings.
3. Go to Apps > Installed Apps.
4. Find Microsoft 365 or Office in the list.
5. Select it, then choose Modify.
6. Select Online Repair.
7. Let the repair finish, then restart the PC.
8. Open Word again and test a document.

If Office 2013 is the installed full version, Online Repair may or may not be available. If it is available, use it.

Also install the latest Office updates:

1. Open any Office app.
2. On the Help menu, select Check for Updates.
3. Turn on Automatically keep Microsoft aps up to date.
4. Select Update.
5. Install all available updates and try Word again.

If Word still fails to open after repair and updates, a deeper Word-specific reset may be needed. Warning: deleting the Word Options registry key resets Word preferences.

1. Exit all Office programs.
2. Type regedit in Search and press Enter.
3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Word\Options.
4. Right-click Options and select Export to back it up.
5. Save the file to the desktop.
6. Right-click the key and delete it.
7. Start Word again.
