How much storage do I have in Onedrive? If I remember correctly, I read that my storage is 1 TB. Why is it that when I open Onedrive, it's telling me that my storage is full?

    Hello

    Go to https://www.onedrive.com

Sign into your account. And look at the lower left storage indicator. What does it say?

As for OneNote. check the user icon on the upper right, is it using the same account? If you go to Files > Save a copy, what's the default location it is saving it to?

For a personal Microsoft account, OneDrive storage depends on the plan tied to the account:

    • Free: 5 GB
    • Microsoft 365 Basic: 100 GB
    • Microsoft 365 Personal: 1 TB
    • Microsoft 365 Family / Premium / Pro: 1 TB per person

If OneDrive says storage is full even though 1 TB is expected, common reasons are:

    1. The signed-in account does not have the subscription attached.
      • Check the account’s storage and quota in the Microsoft storage section of the account dashboard.
      • Also check Services & subscriptions to confirm the Microsoft 365 subscription is active on that same account.
    2. The storage quota changed because the subscription expired or renewal failed.
      • This can reduce available storage until the subscription is renewed.
    3. OneDrive files, photos, or the Recycle Bin are using the quota.
      • Deleted items in the Recycle Bin still count toward storage.
    4. A shared folder added to OneDrive pushed the account over quota.
    5. Outlook.com and Microsoft storage are connected for personal accounts.
      • If either Outlook.com mailbox storage or OneDrive storage is full, email can also be affected.

    What to do:

    1. Sign in and check the Microsoft storage area to see the current quota and usage.
    2. In OneDrive, open Manage your OneDrive storage to see what is taking space.
    3. Delete unneeded files and then empty the Recycle Bin.
    4. If Microsoft 365 Personal or Family is active but OneDrive still shows full, verify OneDrive is signed in with the same account that owns the subscription.
    5. If the web account shows the correct 1 TB but the app still reports full, unlink and relink the PC to the correct account.

What happens when storage is full:

    • New files cannot be uploaded, edited, or synced.
    • Existing files remain, but they become read-only.
    • If the account stays over quota for long enough, OneDrive may eventually be frozen and later files may be deleted.
