Moving cursor

Question

While typing in the location on appointments, the cursor continues to jump to the beginning of the address and continues typing there. I have to delete the added text and move the cursor manually back to the end and continue typing. This happens multiple times. In addition, while typing information on to the calendar, the cursor moves off and I have to click back in to continue typing.

Thank you for describing the issue. To help determine whether this is caused by an Outlook add-in, profile setting, or a problem with the Location field itself, I'd like to ask a couple of quick questions and suggest a simple test.

• Is this happening only in the Location field of appointments, or also in the Subject and Body fields?
• Does the issue occur in all calendars or only one specific calendar?
• Which version of Classic Outlook are you using? In Outlook, go to "File" > "Office Account" and let us know the Version and Build number.

In the meantime, please try these quick tests:

Option 1: Start Outlook in Safe Mode:

• Press Windows + R
• Type: outlook.exe /safe
• Press Enter
• Create a test appointment and check whether the cursor still jumps.

Option 2: Disable Outlook add-ins:

• In Outlook, go to File > Options > Add-ins
• At the bottom, select COM Add-ins and click Go
• Uncheck all add-ins and restart Outlook
• Test again.

Option 3: Test with a new appointment in a different calendar (if available) to determine whether the behavior is related to a specific calendar item.
