creating student accout

Question

I already have a paid subscription, i wanted to create an account using my student email for learn.microsoft.com, is not letting me create one. i have to use my student email for all my assignments.

If your student email address is provided by your school, college, or university, it is often managed by the institution's IT department rather than being an account that students can create and manage themselves.

I would recommend signing out of any existing Microsoft account and then trying to sign in to Microsoft Learn directly using your student email address. In many cases, the school account has already been created and only needs to be used for sign-in rather than registration.

If you are unable to sign in or create an account with the student email address, the next step would be to contact your school's IT support team or administrator. They can confirm whether:

• A Microsoft account has already been provisioned for you.
• Student accounts are permitted to access Microsoft Learn.
• Any restrictions or policies are preventing the account from being used.

Please note that having a paid Microsoft subscription does not automatically grant the ability to create or manage accounts associated with a school's Microsoft 365 tenant. Educational accounts are typically controlled by the educational institution.

For Azure Dev Tools for Teaching and related student access, a separate student account is not created manually. Access is based on the school email domain, and sign-in requires a Microsoft account that uses that same student email address.

If sign-in with the student email is not working, use one of these supported paths:

1. If the student email is already part of the school Active Directory domain, use that same school credential to sign in.
2. If the student email is not already a Microsoft account, create a Microsoft account with that exact student email address.
3. If there is already an existing Microsoft account, add the student email to that account:
   1. Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page.
   2. Sign in with the existing Microsoft account.
   3. Open Your info.
   4. Select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.
   5. Verify identity with the security code.
   6. Select Add email and add the student email address.

For Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, students who do not use Active Directory must create a Microsoft account using the same email address provided by the school. If credentials still are not recognized, use the school credentials in a private browsing session, and if that still fails, contact the subscription administrator.
