locked bios

i bought this off some guy on offer up, he did not tell me this bios was locked. im a dev and i cant even work on my because i cant open the master password.

100% im dumb yes i know that but yo can you please help me

and no i have no proof that a bought it off some guy on offer up

    If, in fact, the BIOS is locked, you will never be able to use that computer, even if you try to reinstall Windows. There is nothing that anyone can do to help you, other than the person - or more likely, the organization - who locked it in the first place. You would have to replace the motherboard, but that will probably cost you more than you paid for the computer.

    Still, it's not a total loss: You might be able to harvest some good hardware, like a graphics card or power supply or cooling fans, that you can use in your next project.

    Anyway, BIOS is the device's firmware, it has nothing to do with Windows. So if the lock is on the BIOS, this is not the forum for you. You need to contact manufacturer support. And yes they do typically want purchase proof, but I also cannot speak on behalf of them. Reach out to them first and see what other options they offer.
