My whole outlook interface is in Vietnamese and despite trying everything, I cannot change the language back to English. I’ve tried to contact support through live chats but get sent to different people or they are unable to help me. I’ve not been able to directly contact the Outlook team at all despite trying many different ways and just keep going around in circles. Please can anyone help with either how to change it or how to actually get help from someone.

    Have you gone to outlook.com, then click on the gear icon on the upper right to launch settings, and use the screenshot location here to guide you to change language?

    If you've already done that, and it wouldn't let you, try this first.

    Please complete these steps on a computer, not on a smartphone or tablet.

    Go to https://account.live.com.

    Under Your info > Sign-in preferences, review all aliases on the account. If you see any alias you do not recognize, remove it.

    Next, go to the Devices section of your Microsoft account and remove any devices you do not recognize.

    ====================

    Go here https://account.microsoft.com/privacy/app-access Click on "Don't allow" for anything you don't recognize.

    =======================

    Then go to Security > Manage how I sign in and make sure all contact information belongs to you.

    On that same page, scroll down to App passwords and remove any existing app passwords.

    Also on the same page, click on Sign out everywhere. This is intended to disconnect any active sessions that may still be connected. Please note that this can take up to 24 hours to fully take effect.

    ====================

    Please wait the full 24-hours - this is the most important step. Once the wait is over, try to see if you can change the language again.

    For Outlook on the web / Outlook.com, change the interface language here:

    1. Sign in to Outlook.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select General > Language and time.
    4. In Language (Country/Region), select English.
    5. Select Save.

    If the page is in Vietnamese and the text cannot be read, use the layout path from the accepted guidance:

    1. Select the gear icon in the top-right corner.
    2. In the left pane, open General.
    3. Select Language and time.
    4. On the right side, open the language drop-down.
    5. Choose English (United States) or the preferred English option.
    6. Select Save.
    7. Refresh the page.

    If the language changed unexpectedly in new Outlook for Windows for proofing or spellcheck, that specific Microsoft Editor issue was fixed worldwide with a service-side fix in December 2024.
