after the recent update to windows 11 everything were good. but i was prompted for small small updates afterwards too. after the small update has been done the keys on laptop mainly B,N, Arrow Left-right-down were not working. I tried restarting the laptop several time but failed to solve the problem. after few hours it started working again. my laptop is dell inspiron which is in very fine condition. not a scratch or a dent. its purely a bug issue. I am a software developer i need my laptop for work. please fix these issues. ASAP

    Hi all,

I have been facing a similar issue where specific keys would not work and functions (shift, for example) would only work on one side of the computer.

The problem was with Game Mode. You can disable this in settings by searching "game mode".

It seems like this option was automatically switched on after updating to Windows 11. The irony of having to turn off an "optimization" feature so that my machine works correctly.....I don't even use this computer to game!

    Hope this helps!

    Hello,

Please run Keyboard troubleshooter from Settings app > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. See if this helps you.

If that doesn't helps, try this:

    1. Press Windows + X, select Device Manager.
    2. Under Device Manager, right click on your keyboard device/driver and select Uninstall. Click OK.
    3. Then click Action > Scan for hardware changes.
    4. Close Device Manager and reboot.

Let me know if this helps!

    Hello @Siddhesh sharad chavan

The keyboard is found to be unresponsive in Windows 11 devices mostly due to driver incompatibilities. However, some users have encountered this sort of problem after performing a Windows update. It can happen as some update files don’t support the default keyboard or have conflicts with the driver to make it nonfunctional.

The workaround, for now, would be to uninstall the update and raise this via the feedback hub. The Feedback Hub app lets you tell Microsoft about any problems you run into while using Windows 11.

    Hope this resolves your Query!!

To date there were no reported keyboard issues for upgrades to Windows 11 per the Microsoft website:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-21h2
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/resolved-issues-windows-11-21h2

Logon on with another user to see whether the problem continues or disappears > report findings

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic
    devmgmt.msc
    sfc /scannow

Post images for the results of the above commands and the windows hardware troubleshooter detailed results.

For device manager: click view > click show hidden devices > manually expand all rows > look for any row displaying a yellow triangle with black exclamation mark or unknown device > post images into this thread

Open the Dell website > support > enter the tag > update drivers and BIOS > run the full diagnostics > post images into this thread
