How is it possible to have the synapse notebook as a source dataset for a copy activity?

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

Unfortunately, calling Azure Synapse notebook from Azure Data Factory is currently not supported.

Note: We are currently working on a native Synapse Spark Notebook activity for ADF pipelines. In the meantime, you can make this work by creating a Synapse pipeline with the Notebook activity. Then, in the ADF pipeline, call that Synapse pipeline via Web activity, which will execute your Synapse pipeline w/Synapse Spark Notebook.

Appreciate if you could share the feedback on our feedback channel. Which would be open for the user community to upvote & comment on. This allows our product teams to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature backlog and gives insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature.
