If the reminders are not working in outlook, can you check the below and see if that makes any difference?
- check if the reminder is enabled on the File-> Options -> Advanced -> Reminders
- Open the occurrence of the recurring meeting and check the reminder under Meeting Occurrence
- Try the outlook switches - /cleanreminders, /resetfolders
- Refer https://support.microsoft.com/en-ae/help/2787708/reminders-in-outlook-do-not-appear for registry
- Check for any add-ins and try in safe mode
- If its for specific user, try configuring outlook profile on a different machine and check
