Why is the default OneDrive Share and Library naming convention so badly conceived...

Currently, the organisation's full name is given in the default top level name in OneDrive as well as any new SharePoint shared libraries.

For example:
For the OneDrive business user, their default user's OneDrive top level is as follows:

"OneDrive - Insert The Full Organisation's Name as Defined in Organization Information in MS 365"

My example is a little exaggerated for illustrative purposes. Some organisations can have rather lengthy names they require for legislative, legal, or billing requirements.

For new SharePoint libraries created the default share name is:

"Insert The Full Organisation's Name, as Defined in Organization Information in MS 365 Team Site - Documents"

Currently, the only way of changing the default folder names is to change the organisation's name in the MS 365 Admin console. This will have billing and other identification implications when it should not. The way in which organisations have identified themselves legally, externally, and internally has always been handled separately. Enforcing the full entities name, as a part of the file path is crazy at best or downright idiocy.

What we need to be able to do is:

  1. For the user’s default OneDrive mapping it should be - "ShortOrgName - UserName - OneDrive"

This should also be easily changed, if required, on a team or whole organisation level, in SharePoint Admin to meet the naming conventions regarding file sharing and not legal/billing, as it is currently.

  1. For the shared library default share folder name it should be - "ShortOrgName - Team Name - OneDrive"

We really don't need to know the full organisation name, as covered off plenty, above.
We don't need to know the "Site Team - Documents" part either unless you really want or need to state the blindingly obvious. In which case...
This should also be easily changed, if required, on a team or whole organisation level, in SharePoint Admin to meet the naming conventions regarding file sharing and not legal/billing, as it is currently.

I have already given feedback to Microsoft on this matter. Just wondered what y'all thought...

Agree. The naming convention is incredibly dumb. Worse, it's not really a "default" because it's the only option - changing the name of user folders is difficult or impossible.
