We use Teams Windows Desktop Client
The inbuilt dial pad is very useful if you need to call a destination number which needs inputs such as "dial one for..." or to navigate in a menue "dial # to repeat ..." or in our case: call a sensitive destination number like a "pricetagged number" and confirm with "*".
We have automatically updates of Teams Desktop Client (which makes absolutly sense)
Actually running Version (newest): 1.4.00.35564 27.01.2022
We discovered that "*" confirmation not working anymore from Teams when calling expensive numbers
we did tests with a Teams which got not automatically updated and still had elder Version
=> WORKING VERSION : 1.4.00.8872 21.04.2021
=> BROKEN VERSION : 1.4.00.35564 27.01.2022
we don't know since which Teams version it is broken
Info: other inputs like 1,2,3 (numbers) are working, only * is not working anymore during a call setup in our environement
It is working when using a current Android Teams Version
Question:
- Where we can find difference between old and new versions or changements
- how users are able to downgrade Teams to an earlier working version
- is the problem known from your side? (could not find other questions regarding this problem)

As far as I know, there's no official release notes for Teams clients with detailed version number.

Currently it's not feasible to download or revert back to an earlier version of Teams client.
3) is the problem known from your side? (could not find other questions regarding this problem)
I went through both the "What's new in Microsoft Team" article mentioned earlier and Teams troubleshooting, but didn't see any relevant information about the issue you described. Given this, personally I'd recommend trying to directly opening a ticket via the Microsoft 365 admin portal > Support > Service Request to help investigate further.
