Add-in not loaded when starting Outlook from command line

Hi,

When starting an outlook compose window from the command line with the following command:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\Outlook.exe" /c "ipm.note" /m "* Email address is removed for privacy *?subject=testing

I noticed that the Outlook add-ins are not loaded.

Is this expected behaviour? I could not find any mention of this in the documentation.

Thanks in advance,

Tom

I don't think it is expected. Try to play with command line parameters and find which one is causing the issue on your side. To disable all extensions (web and COM add-ins) you can use the /noextensions command line switch.

    Hi @Tom Lauwyck ,
    Welcome to our forum.

According to my test, when starting an outlook compose window from the command line with the command, add-in works fine.

In order to verfiy, what's the detailed version of your Outlook? (File > Office Account > About Outlook). Please check the your Outlook version and upgrade it to the latest(File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now)

Besides, does add-in work fine when running Outlook normally? To ensure that the Outlook add-in loads correctly:
In Outlook, click the File > Options > Add-ins. click the Manage drop-down menu, select COM Add-Ins, and then click the Go button, make sure the add-ins are selected.

If the issue insist, try to repair from Control Pane.

If the issue has any update, feel free to contact us.
I look foward to hearing from you.
