Dear community,
I have acquired a 5 user cal license and I am trying to activate the license using the Remote Desktop licensing role that I installed (I don’t have a subscription), I am using an home lab for testing and training.

I am not planning to have productive service.
I managed to activate the server, but still I can’t pass the subscription wizard.
Please help.
Thanks on advance.

Or do I need a server license for that e.g. "windows server standard 2022 64bit english 1pk 16 core

You'll need a Server 2022 Standard or DataCenter product key depending on what was installed in order to active. A windows user Cal would not work.

We've no clue of part numbers here. If they're RDS Cals you'll need to get in touch with the vendor for the missing info.

I’ll verify this with the seller.

Seeing this thread, which helps understand a bit more:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/49183/what-are-the-differences-between-cal-of-windows-se.html

Still, I’m confused with the licensing “logic”.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for checking.
I contacted the vendor and haven’t got a response yet.
    I’ll keep you updated.

    Many Thanks!

178836-3aafa9cd-6bd1-4366-b63e-907f91106796.jpegThe thing is as follows, I don’t have a support plan, so I’m not moving forward.

I also do not look for support, just for license keys as I don’t have a volume license contract, I’m on a catch-22 scenario.

No moving forward for me, I just have 210€ worth paper that I can’t use nor I can return to the vendor.

    Thanks
