Unfortunately, you cannot switch from
free trial
tier to Community Edition of Databricks.
Note: Azure Databricks, if you create Free Trial (Premium - 14-Days Free DBUs), you have only option to upgrade to premium after a 14 day trial. Else, you will get this error message: Cluster start feature is currently disabled, and the cluster does not run
.
As a student, you can sign-up for Databricks community Edition and start using at free of cost with some limitations.
