windows NLB serve all requests form one node

Hello All,

we are using NLB with IIS in windows server 2019
windows NLB configured with 2 nodes in multicast mode
affinity is set to single with time out 10 min.
all requests form out side forwarded from Apache server ( configured as reverse proxy) to the NLB IP.
I am suspecting that NLB receives the source request IP of the DMZ server so it will always serve it form one node on;y.
any Idea how solve this issue

    Hi @محمد حازم

For better troubleshooting, you can try to share your configuration or explain a bit more about the issue.

Based on your description it seems the NLB is not making use of the second node for the requests, in this case, check your network infrastructure.

Different Network Load Balancing (NLB) operation modes affect network infrastructure, and the best ways in which the network can support each mode can be found from the below Microsoft article.

Configure network infrastructure to support the NLB operation mode
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/networking/configure-network-to-support-nlb-operation-mode

You can configure an NLB cluster in one of three operation modes: Unicast, multicast, or IMGP multicast. All three modes work very well if your infrastructure is correctly configured.

    Hope this resolves your Query!!
