Hi everyone,

I'm currently having this error (The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.) showing next to the "Administrative status" in the "Search Service Application: Search Administration" page in my SharePoint 2013 Central Administration site. The "Search Application Topology" is presenting the search servers status without issue.
When I try to access "Crawl Log" or "Content Sources" in the "Search Service Application: Search Administration" page

Sorry, something went wrong
System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.

So far I have try the following:

  1. The service account running Search Service Application, has the required roles on SQL Server (nothing change since I have SharePoint 2013 in my company).
  2. All Application Pool of the "Search Service Application" are started in all servers running SharePoint Search Service
  3. The service account running Search Service Application has checked login credential details , nothing change since the account created.

I found some suggestion talking about it could be the Application Pool of the Search Service Application has corrupted:

I have try to create a new Application Pool and assign it to the Search Service Application through the Central Administration site, the screen showing the process of "Edit Search Service Application" took couples of hours then result with "This Page can't be displayed" then I have another issue now of I can't get the "Properties" of the Search Service Application and getting window saying "working on it..... Please wait while your changes are processed for the Search Service Application"

I saw in the internet there some suggestion about recreate a new Search Services Application but I want to save this option as the last option if you would have other option may resolve this issue.

Thank you for your help...

    Hi @Saad
Have you updated windows recently? I find a similar issue in sharepoint server 2013 says that it may be the cause of this issue, just re-run configuration wizard on servers one by one:

    Hi All,
    Thank you for your reply.
I found one of the Apps server in my SharePoint2013 farm has lost the entries under the "SharePoint Web Services) IIS-Web Site, although the IIS-Web Site still showing in the ISS but the the applications were missing while the servers in the farm have everything.
I have rue the SharePoint Configuration Wizard in that server but it did fail then I run the PSConfig.exe command which did run successfully .
Then I did recreate the (SharePoint Web Service) IIS-Web Site including all applications.

The result I can see the search admin service with it's application pool showing under the (SharePoint Web Services) IIS-Web Site and the application pool for this service started under the application pool section in the IIS
Then I check my the "Search Service Application: Search Administration" page ... all came back and look good

    Kind Regards,
    Saad

    Hi @Saad
I'm glad to hear you solve the problem ,if you have any issue about SharePoint, you are welcome to raise a ticket in this forum.

By the way, since the Microsoft Q&A community has a policy that "The question author cannot accept their own answer. They can only accept answers by others.". and according to the scenario introduced here: Answering your own questions on Microsoft Q&A, I would make a brief summary of this thread:

[New SharePoint List will not save entries]

    Issue Symptom:
I created a SP list from the SP template to track asset tags. Added a few columns to customize. Trying to add a single record by editing the list. When editing in Grid on, it doesn't save. When switching back to old SP, nothing saves and I get the error:
TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'ID')
TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'ID')TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading '_events')

    Current status:
Eventually the List just worked itself out.

You could click the "Accept Answer" button for this summary to close this thread, and this can make it easier for other community member's to see the useful information when reading this thread. Thanks for your understanding!
