SQL Server License for 4 core VM with hyperthreading enabled?

Hi All,

If I have a VM with 4 cores. Hyper-threading is enabled on the VM so total 8 logical cores. So if I have to license it, Should I buy 4 core license or 8 core license. Kindly help on this.

Quote from MS document Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Licensing guide;

>Note: The use of hyper-threading technology does not affect the number of core licenses required when running SQL Server software in a physical OSE.

Please also check if this blog Hyper-threading doesn’t count for virtual SQL licensing could help you.
