    @Grace Majekodunmi ,

    You would require to access the dashboard for your subscription . The Office 365 E5 developer program subscription is linked to usage and activity of the tenant . If you did not logon or actively used the M365 tenant for any purpose it would automatically expire. You can always signup for new sandbox subscription using the developer dashboard https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/profile . This was done primarily to allow efficient allocation of resources to our active developer program members.

    You need to logon to the developer program dashboard with the email (Microsoft account) which you used to signup for this developer sandbox. As seen in your screenshot , you have signed up after Aug 2018 hence your subscription is indeed renewable. But it only renews if it is actively used as mentioned in the linked article here.

    In order to find whether your subscription is renewable or not , you will need to logon to the M365 developer sandbox dashboard. You should see a notification in your developer dashboard as shown below. Please click on let us know option as highlighted in the picture which will help you raise a request for review with Microsoft .

    If you has signed up this as a part of Visual studio enterprise/pro subscription and the original subscription expired then this would also expire as a result. you can join the program again and create a M365 dev sandbox again . Please check more FAQs on Visual studio subscription support here. I my case the following is what I see when I logon to the dashboard with my liveId(outlook.com id) which I used to signup for this .

    If the subscription is non-ren3wable , you wont get the Let us know option mentioned earlier. You will see the following notification . In this case you will have to create a new subscription and the old one can not be renewed.

    If you have to create a new E5 dev subscription I would suggest you to make sure you link your GitHub ID if you have one . You can also see that I have my GitHub account linked which actually prevents expiration as my GitHub account activity automatically accrues towards the automatic renewal. You can link your GitHub account by clicking the gearbox icon as shown below.

    It will take you to the preferences for this sandbox account. Here you can see the you can an account linking section and you can see that this can help in keeping the account active . As most developers use GitHub for sharing code and storing their sandbox projects its easier to get activity counted for subscription renewal .
