Sharepoint Word Document Links

We have word documents within Sharepoint with multiple hyperlinks that would normally take the user to external websites or internal documents within Sharepoint. We have just moved all of these word documents onto a Sharepoint site and now the users with "read" access to Sharepoint are unable to access these links. There is no way for them to click on the link to take them to the other document or to the website that is linked.

how can we correct this issue?

    Hi @Vanessa Vitale
Have you granted enough permission for the users to access those hyperlinks? Per my test, if I am given access to the sharepoint list/library which link points to, when I open the link, I could also view the list/library:

1.Read the word document with read permission:

    2.Open the link:

3.Access another library with access permission:

actually with some trial and error i found this button and once ppl selected it the internal links on of the word document could be clicked on and the either other document or external site was accessible.

not sure if that picture worked but in the view only mode there is a button at the top that says Accessibility Mode

    Hi @Vanessa Vitale
I'm glad to hear you solve the problem,if you have any issue about SharePoint, you are welcome to raise a ticket in this forum.

By the way, since the Microsoft Q&A community has a policy that "The question author cannot accept their own answer. They can only accept answers by others.". and according to the scenario introduced here: Answering your own questions on Microsoft Q&A, I would make a brief summary of this thread:

    [Sharepoint Word Document Links]

    Issue Symptom:

We have just moved all of these word documents onto a Sharepoint site and now the users with "read" access to Sharepoint are unable to access these links. There is no way for them to click on the link to take them to the other document or to the website that is linked.

    Current status:
In the view only mode there is a button at the top that says Accessibility Mode, once select it the internal links on of the word document could be clicked on and the either other document or external site was accessible.
